Our courses claim to be “scientifically proven”, but on what basis do we make that claim?

There are now hundreds of studies available that confirm the benefits of mindfulness meditation. Two of the most important early studies are listed below. The Zenways 8-week Course in Zen Meditation for Stress Relief & Wellbeing we provide was subject to an Oxford University study in 2016 which verified a marked reduction in stress, and increase in life satisfaction.

John Kabat-Zinn, UMass Medical School – The clinical use of mindfulness meditation for the self-regulation of chronic pain.

Mark Williams, The University of Oxford – Prevention of relapse/recurrence in major depression by mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.

The research at both UMass and Oxford continues to this day.
